Enhanced URL targeting for Prompts

Target Prompts to specific URL parameters, then capture variables as user metadata

Looking to capture in-the-moment feedback from users?

We created the In-Product Prompt, a popover you can target to specific websites or browser-based product pages, so you can trigger the right questions at the right time.

In this update, we’ve elevated the URL targeting to help you refine and segment research audiences via unique elements like source, campaign, and more.

💬 Trigger In-Product Prompts via specific URL parameters

Prompts help you to cast a wider net and recruit research participants from a pages’ users, now you can target a more specific set of users based on the unique parameters of the URL.

For example, refine by language by showing the Prompt on eg. [mywebsite.com?lang=en] and not [mywebsite.com]. Or refine by source like a specific marketing campaign, live ads, and more.

🧠 Capture URL variables as user metadata

Choose which URL variables provide more context to a user’s source and capture it as metadata in Maze Results and in .csv exports.

This means you can segment feedback received from users who viewed different product pages, belong to separate A/B test variants, or came from different marketing channels.

  • e.g. On the [amazon.com/products/:productid/details] page, capture 'productid' variables as metadata
  • e.g. On [yobank.com/home?ab_version=:version&utm_source=:source] page, capture 'version' and 'source' variables as metadata
