Introducing 🥁 Maze Review

Bring your sign-off process to Maze with change requests, approvals, and annotations

Our new Maze Review feature brings your approval process to Maze and help you build better tests, together. It empowers you to quickly share maze drafts in preview mode, collect contextual feedback from key stakeholders, and move between review and implementation a matter of clicks.

Maze Review enables you to:

  • Share draft mazes via preview mode with key collaborators by sharing a URL or invitations
  • Flag individual maze blocks as reviewed by approving or making a change request
  • Leave contextual feedback as annotations with comments, @ specific team members, and receive updates by email
  • See Comments from Preview Mode reflected in the Builder to quickly implement feedback

Prompt your team and key stakeholders to review things like copy, block settings, Condition paths, question sequence, and more!

How to review mazes in preview mode

Invite your team and other stakeholders to review your maze in preview mode. They’ll be able to fluidly navigate maze blocks, so they can test different paths and review individual blocks.

Collaborators will be prompted to select the status of review for each block via the approval and change request flags. They can leave comments as annotations to provide more contextual feedback. All feedback updates in Maze Review can be sent as notifications via email, so you don’t miss a trick.

How to implement change requests in the Maze Builder

In the Maze Builder, you can reference change requests from Maze Review in the new Comments panel. This means you can quickly action changes directly or start a discussion with the requestor and reply to their comments to ask for more details.

Resolve change requests that you’ve actioned to remove them from your comment modal, so it’s clear you’re ready to get your test in front of users.

We know that most collaboration happens when users are creating mazes, now you can eliminate back and forth across other tools and keep research feedback contextual, and seamless. Want to learn more? Check out our knowledge base article.

The way you create mazes is changing

At Maze, we’re in the business of keeping you moving and learning fast. That’s why we’re always evolving to improve your experience when creating tests.

Last month, this update was released to all paid plans and will be rolled out to users on the free plan in the coming weeks.

Projects now act as folders, where you can:

  • Add multiple mazes to a Project to house all related tests for a single research initiative in one place
  • Add new mazes to a Project by starting from scratch, from a Template, or by duplicating existing mazes
  • You can link multiple prototypes within a Project
  • We’ve removed differentiating between User Testing or Discovery mazes, you can now add prototypes via the Mission Block
  • Get an overview of all mazes, their owners, linked prototypes, and more with our new Project space look

Link prototypes with the Mission Block

The Mission Block has had an upgrade and is now your control center for prototypes.

To link a prototype to your maze, add a Mission Block to your maze and click ‘Add prototype’. The new tweaks enable you to add your file URL to link a prototype and you also have the new ability to remove links you’ve added. Making it even easier for you to make last-minute changes or repurpose tests when you duplicate.
