We’re excited to announce the arrival of Open Card Sorting, where your users help craft clear and informed ideas for naming, crafting navigation, and structuring content. With new functionality comes new analytics, map mental models with ease with our custom, automated visualizations, and metrics to help speed up your time to insight.

🃏Run Open Card Sorting tasks

Choose between Open or Closed card sorting methods when you add the Card Sort Block to a Maze.

• Open Card Sorting enables users to create their own categories, great for grasping trends in language, terminology, and information grouping from your audience. 
• Closed Card Sorting asks users to sort cards into pre-determined categories helping you validate assumptions. 

💡 Tip: Open Card Sorting is only available on Pro and Organization plans.

📸 Add images and descriptions to Cards

This is the perfect way to create more engaging, information-rich card sorts or isolate content types to test naming association with images or descriptions.

Now, you can add images and/or descriptions to your cards for both Open or Closed Card Sorts. Just select which content you want testers to see by hiding the name of the card and only show descriptions or images.

📊 Instant visualizations for faster insights

Unpicking data trends can eat up too much valuable time. With Maze, your results turn into visual analytics instantly, showcased as agreement rates, a similarity matrix, and an agreement matrix to speed up your time to insight. Here’s the low-down:

• Agreement Rate: See the percentage of users who placed a card in a certain category. Learn more.
• Auto-grouping: Save time manually piecing data together, Maze automatically merges categories with the same name. Learn more.
• Agreement Matrix: Visualize trends as this matrix clusters cards under each category based on their highest agreement rates. Learn more.
