Record Clips for the entire maze

Clips deepen the insights you can capture in a maze, allowing users to talk aloud, share their screen, and share their facial expressions on camera.

We're excited to bring the power of Clips, which were previously limited to Mission and Live Website Testing blocks, to all blocks in a maze.

Having access to Clips recordings for the entire test unlocks a new level of flexibility and depth of insight, while maintaining the ease and scalability of an unmoderated test.

Some examples include:

  1. Requesting participants to share their camera and audio during a maze, allows you to guide them to speak-out-loud as they go through the questions and tasks, giving you deeper insights beyond just a written response.
  2. Observing participants and their reactions as they perform Card Sorting, Tree Testing, or 5-Second tests, gives you a nuanced understanding of their mental model and experience.
  3. Asking participants to share their entire screen (window, or tab) and test any desktop experience, from native desktop apps to websites (without requiring implementing a code snippet).

How to use Clips on an entire maze

Enabling recording

When building your maze, you'll find Clips above the blocks area. Clicking 'Record' will automatically record Clips for the entire maze: no additional setup is needed. The Clips settings you choose (whether to record screen, camera or audio and requiring permissions), will be applied to whole maze.

Note: Your previously published (mazes that are already running), will continue to record Clips only for Mission and Live Website Testing blocks.

Viewing results

In 'Results', you can view Clips from specific participants from the redesigned 'Participants' tab, or view clips captured for each block in the tables under each block's results.

Hiring Panel Testers

This feature is compatible with hired testers from our Panel, except for mazes that contain a Live Website Testing block, where Clips will be disabled if you hire Panel testers. Recording Clips for the entire maze is available to all plans that have access to Clips today (Starter and Organization).
