With the release of our new Live Website Testing feature, Maze now supports the usability testing of Axure prototypes.
Axure is a UX tool that is perfect for building realistic and functional prototypes without code.
Prototypes are the bridge between design and development, they’re not only the perfect way to communicate what’s needed to developers but also an excellent way to test usability before going into the expensive stage of building.
With Maze, you can test your Axure prototypes remotely with real users, where their interactions and responses are transformed into visual design metric actionable insights and design metrics.
Here’s how to get started:
1️⃣ Install the Maze Plugin within Axure
The Maze Snippet acts as your plugin within Axure. So you’ll need to grab your unique team snippet code from Maze, and copy it into your new Plugin in Axure.
2️⃣ Generate a share link in the Axure Cloud
Once you’ve enabled the share link within your Axure prototype file, copy over the share link without a prototype player.
3️⃣ Import your prototype into Maze
The behavior to import an Axure prototype works slightly differently than our other prototype integrations. You'll need to paste your unique share link in the live website test block’s URL field, so it’ll look a little like this.
Once you’ve imported your Axure prototype, select the path you expect or would like users to take. Maze will then track how your testers navigate the prototype and categorize the results into successful, indirect, and failed, so you can quickly determine your flow’s usability.
There are also additional design metrics and tools to capture context-rich but quantitative data. Dive into details with heatmaps and first clicks, alongside short video and screen recordings of your tester’s sessions with Clips.
Share your maze via URL to your own lists, via email campaign, through our panel of 140,000+ participants, or send as a popover on specific product or website pages with the In-Product Prompt.
In a matter of hours, you’ll be able to jump into your automated Maze Report to collaborate on summarising findings and share the slides with your key stakeholders. Access a complete guide to testing with Axure, here.
