Rating scales are closed-ended, multiple-choice questions where each answer holds a particular value (e.g. 1 to 10, good to bad). Answer choices often include numbers, sentiments, or emojis. Rating scales are often used to gather customer feedback on products, experiences, ideas, or statements. They’re a popular type of survey question since they can collect subjective data in a way that can be analyzed as easily as quantitative data.
