User journey (also called a customer journey) refers to the sequence of actions taken by a user to achieve their goal within a product or app. User journeys typically refer to a high-level goal, such as signing up, onboarding, or upgrading. They can consist of multiple steps, often across different channels and lengths of time.

For example, the sign-up user journey will see users through each step from finding your product, to clicking 'sign up', submitting the form, and even activating and onboarding.
